Ranji Trophy final between Karnataka and J&K to be held in Hubballi: Report

February 19, 2026

The upcoming Ranji Trophy final between Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir will be played at the KSCA Stadium in Rajnagar, Hubballi from February 24.

Karnataka built a huge total lead of 802 runs against Uttarakhand in Lucknow at the end of the fourth and penultimate day of their semi-final.

Jammu and Kashmir sealed their first Ranji Trophy final beat Bengal by six wickets in Kalyani on Wednesday.

“Karnataka vs Jammu and Kashmir, five-day final from February 24 will be played at KSCA Stadium, Rajnagar, Hubballi,” a Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) official told PTI on condition of anonymity.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has received conditional approval from the Karnataka state cabinet to host domestic, IPL and international matches after being on the sidelines since June 4 last year.

But the KSCA management may have wanted to have a hassle-free match during the Ranji title race while continuing work to improve security at Chinnaswamy as directed by various government agencies.

Arranging the match at Hubballi, a prominent remote center is also in line with the vision KSCA President Venkatesh Prasad to introduce this sport to different corners of the state.

On taking over as the KSCA chief, Prasad expressed his commitment to modernize the cricket infrastructure across Karnataka with a focus on bringing top quality to venues outside the urban centres.

True to his word, Prasad and his team recently visited several centers across the state to assess the development work that needs to be done.
