Balancing serious accusations of building shortcomings and neglecting at the Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL), Mile Raj Thakur Makkan Singh demanded a CBI probe or an expert committee for the alleged irregularities committed when the ammonia pipeline and other units.
During the visit to the race on Saturday, the local MLA said that since the start of the race in 2021, it was repeatedly closed due to leaks of pipeline. “The construction of the pipeline was shabby. Any leak threatens the lives of thousands living around the plant. The company that laid the pipeline must be punished under defects,” he said, adding that urea production was affected at a time when the culture area of telangana was closed as a result.
Although Telangana invested 11% in the project and prolonged full cooperation, the Center did not provide a TELangan or 40% of the promised urea. “In May, June and July, neither a half of the quota was delivered. In August we were supposed to get 65,000 metric tons (Mt), but with the closed race again, farmers are facing serious shortages,” he stressed.
Mr. Makkan Singh demanded that the zero level (ZLD) plant is stopped, for which the offers are waiting for four years, immediately built to contain pollution affecting nearby villages. “People from Ramagundam suffer. Polluration -related diseases are growing. Free corporate medical care must be provided to the affected villagers. Veerlapalli Village should be moved within the R&R,” he said.
He also demanded the transfer of RFCL’s company office from Noida/Delhi to Ramagundam and claimed that the factory and local problems cannot be effectively overseeed from Delhi. In addition, while the CRS 20 GBP must be assigned to CSR every year, only 1.1 Crore has been released so far, and urged to release the full CSR and the use of hygiene funds, street lighting and development work in affected villages and city.
