Ram Temple Trust to meet on July 22 amid allegations of donation theft

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to meet on July 22 amid allegations of misappropriation of donations to Ayodhya’s Ram temple.
According to the agenda circulated in a letter to Trustees by Trust General Secretary Krishna Mohan, the meeting will deal with confirming the proceedings of its July 6 meeting. Besides, a special meeting has been scheduled at 3 pm at the Ram Temple complex, followed by the regular meeting of the Trust at 4 pm at Maniram Chawni, on the premises of Trust President Nritya Gopal Das.
The trustees are likely to discuss the restoration of various committees in accordance with the Trust’s rules and discuss the final report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the donation theft, if available by then.
On July 6, the Trust held a meeting chaired by Mr. Dasand, which accepted the resignation of its general secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra following allegations of embezzlement of donations. She appointed Krishna Mohan as Acting General Secretary to ensure smooth running of operations until a full-fledged appointment is made.
Eight accused were arrested in the embezzlement case. They were produced before the court of Additional District Magistrate Pratibha Narayan through video conferencing, which extended their judicial custody till July 27.
