
Raksha Bandhan 2025: On Friday, the traffic police in Delhi released advice for commuting motorways and warned against the main overloads when a number of Delhiites set out to celebrate Raksha Bandhan 2025 at Eve Rakhi.
On Friday a heavy traffic jam from different parts of Delhi-NCR was reported when people started traveling at the weekend of Rakhi.
In Delhi, the traffic police warned citizens to avoid certain routes, and warned against the main traffic jams in Delhi.
“Given the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, which coincides with the weekend, it is expected that a large number of commuters will travel from Delhi through the national highway,” he said.

Police asked commuting to avoid these routes in the middle of heavy traffic jams in Delhi – Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat and Chandigarh via NH-44 and Singhu Border.
“To prevent overload, commuting towards Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat and Chandigarh via NH-44 and Singh Border, it is recommended to consider alternative routes,” he said.
To avoid traffic jams in Delhi, he recommended using the commuting to use the metro.
“Public transport options, such as Delhi Metro, may be a suitable alternative to reach the target. Plan your way in advance to ensure smooth commuting,” the traffic police in Delhi said.
Rakhi Traffic Jam in Delhi
The different corners of Delhi saw massive traffic jams when people set out on the Raksha Bandhan celebration on Friday. The slow movement of the vehicle was reported from the Ghazipur boundary, while the cars were visible for hours on the road.
At the beginning of the evening were also seen cars, bikes and automatic rickshaw.
The Raksha Bandhan festival, also known as Rakhi, is celebrated throughout India. This year is celebrated on August 9, 2025.
