Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the security situation and operational preparedness of the Army during the Army Command Conference in Jaisalmer, followed by visits to forward areas of Tanot and Laungewala in Rajasthan on Friday (October 24, 2025).
During the conference, detailed discussions were held with senior Army leadership on key aspects including gray zone warfare, plan for synergy between forces, Aatmanirbharta and innovation.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and all Army Commanders.
Addressing the gathering, the Defense Minister described Operation Sindoor as an epitome of India’s military prowess and national character. “Operation Sindoor will go down in history not only as a military operation but also as a symbol of courage and restraint of the nation,” he said.
Stressing that the counter-terrorism mission will continue “until even a single terrorist thought remains alive”, he added that the operation reflects a new strategic mindset – India is responding to terrorist activity on its own terms. “This is India’s new defense doctrine that embodies both determination and courage,” he said.
A dynamic ‘Capability Demonstration Exercise’ was held which showcased the integrated employment of new organizations such as the Bhairav Battalion and the Ashni Platoon along with the latest technological assets inducted into the Indian Army to conduct operations.

Mr. Singh expressed gratitude to the soldiers for guarding the nation’s borders round the clock and urged them to remain alert and never underestimate the adversaries. He urged commanders to continue to focus on defense diplomacy, Aatmanirbharta, information warfare, infrastructure and force modernization to ensure a future-ready army.
The Minister of Defense reaffirmed the Government’s unwavering commitment to equipping the armed forces with state-of-the-art technology, infrastructure and support to maintain the highest level of operational readiness. Appreciating the Army’s role in ensuring peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, he said the situation along the northern border reflected India’s balanced and firm foreign policy. “Our policy is clear – there will be dialogue and our preparedness at the border will remain intact,” he said.
Mr Singh stressed that while warfare is increasingly driven by technology and soldiers remain the nation’s greatest asset, he said machines multiply force but “it is the human spirit that delivers results”.
It also witnessed a capability demonstration exercise that showcased the integrated employment of new organizations such as the Bhairav Battalion and the Ashni Platoon, symbolizing the Army’s efforts to develop capabilities and modernize the force.
