On Friday (September 19, 2025), the Rajasthan Cabinet approved a proposal to establish the first Sports University of the State in Jaipur and decided to simplify the rules for families for parents and disabled children of the deceased employees, in addition to the revision of the NRI fees structure at the Faculty of Health.
Rajasthan Main Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma chaired the cabinet meeting.
The bill on the Sports University, named after the legendary ruler Rajput Maharan Pratap, will be presented at the next meeting of the State Assembly. The university, which was originally announced in the state budget 2024-25, will promote research of sports technology and performance analysis and develop elite coaches and sports experts.
Prime Minister Chand Bairwa said that the Cabinet approved amendments to Rajasthan Stating Services (Pension) of 1996 to provide an improved family pension to 50% of the parents of the deceased government employees and continue benefits for sons and daughters with disabilities.
Changes would ensure more “more inclusive and compassionate” support for families of government employees, Bairwa said. In another decision rationalized the cabinet rationalized fees for seats NRI quotas at medical faculties operating within Rajasthan Medical Education Society. NRI charges will be 2.5 times the quota management fees, which are 23.93 ₹ Lakh per year since the academic meeting 2025-26.
“The revised fee is in accordance with the average cost of private medical faculties, which makes institutions within the Society for Medical Education. The decision will help occupy NRI vacancies by attracting talented students and creating further incomes of CRORE RS.45 for the company,” said Mr. Bairwa.
Another decision adopted at the cabinet meeting concerned the allocation of soil for solar energy projects and career growth in state tourism and archeology and the museum service with the creation of new functions that will facilitate timely promotion.
