Storage and hybrid systems will form the backbone of renewable energy in the coming decades, and Rajasthan, with its vast solar parks and state-of-the-art grid infrastructure, is poised to lead the shift. The desert state has already achieved the top position in the solar energy sector.
These views were expressed at the ‘Global Solar Expo-Rajasthan 2025’ in Jaipur on Wednesday (November 26, 2025), with experts confirming that the state is fast becoming a magnet for large-scale investment in solar hybrids, storage and green hydrogen. Minister of State for Power Heeralal Nagar inaugurated the two-day mega exhibition at the Rajasthan International Centre.
The exhibition brought together a large number of industry leaders, investors, policy makers, technology experts and start-ups to converge with government agencies. The exhibition was jointly organized by Energy Quotient (EQ) magazine and the solar and decarbonisation market C2Z.
Mr. Nagar said the state government is taking steps to attract investment in solar energy projects while farmers are showing interest in installing solar pumps and grid-connected equipment to reduce their irrigation costs through the Centre’s schemes. “Solar power has also helped supply electricity to agricultural consumers during the day,” he said.
In his speech, Chief Minister for Power Ajitabh Sharma said that the state with its forward-looking policies is on track to become the country’s largest green energy hub in the coming years.
The exhibition witnessed meaningful dialogues on technology, policy and investment in the renewable energy sector with the participation of more than 100 exhibiting companies. Speakers shed light on PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar schemes, rooftop solar power plants, hybrid models, fixed and dispatchable renewable energy, battery energy storage system, storage solutions, green finance and green hydrogen.
Models of advanced technologies including solar modules, inverters, battery storage, electric car charging, smart grid systems and next-generation clean technology solutions were on display during the event.
On the second and final day of the show on Thursday (November 27, 2025), Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa will felicitate the top 100 achievers in India’s solar sector. Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Gupta, among others, was present at the inaugural session of the fair.
