Raj Shamani, who boasts nearly 13.5 million subscribers on YouTube and hosts the Figuring Out With Raj Shamani podcast, recently announced that his team topped the charts by securing the top spot on the podcast list in India. He reflected on his journey from a humble setup to a large team.
In an Instagram post shared on December 7, he wrote, “We’ve officially become the #1 podcast in India and here are all the podcast setups from day 1 to date. He claimed to have beaten global giants like American podcaster Joseph James Rogan Jr. and UK podcaster Steven Bartlett’s Diary Of A CEO in his quest for global recognition.
Emphasizing the importance of persistence, he added, “I still can’t believe that the Indore boy beat global giants like Joe Rogan, CEO of Dairy of A and many others in India. 🫢& to me more than rank, it only shows one thing: if you are consistent and just put your head down and keep working, eventually you will reach the top (sic).
What started from humble beginnings with his trainer as one of his first guests in the world class studio, has joined the list of top 10 YouTube creators in India in 2025 according to the YouTube Global Culture & Trends Report 2025. Others included in the list are Sejal Gaba, Keshav Shashi Vlogs, Tera Trigun, Sirf Rida Shashly and A. Tech Master Shorts.
He emphasized that the key to success is consistency and dedication, not resources. Raj Shamani has been ranked among the top 100 podcasters worldwide, becoming the only Indian podcast to achieve this milestone. Aspiring to reach the stars, he added, “Even after becoming #1 in India, ‘I’m not happy.’ Because we checked the global charts. And we’re ranked 76th in the world.”
He concluded the post by adding, “I believe if we all support each other and come together, then Indian podcast can make it to the global Top 10.”
Raj Shamani strives to protect personal rights
Raj Shamani claimed that his name, image, voice and online presence were widely misused on the internet. He was among the first internet personalities in the country to seek legal protection of his personality rights. Last month, the Delhi High Court granted interim protection to the personality rights of the podcaster and influencer.
However, Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora questioned his plea to block all hashtags containing his name and said. “A broadcaster may have exclusive rights to a cricket match, but someone covering it can still use the match’s hashtag.”
