Four people died in incidents related to rainfall in Kerala because the southwest monsoon rainfall continued on Friday, causing extensive property damage and forcing the Indian meteorological department (IMD) to increase the level of alert during the day.
The deceased included a 52 -year -old Fisher in Thiruvananthapurama, whose body was restored on Friday, two men aged 36 and 37 in Kottayam who died after a re -evaluation, and a 39 -year -old man who drowned in the Madhuvahini river.
Several people who were reported to be missing, including nine fishermen who went to the sea in two fishing ships in the Thiruvananthapuram district.
On Friday afternoon IMD put eight kerala districts for a red warning for extremely heavy rainfall, while the remaining districts were for orange stamps for isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall. IMD forecasts indicate that the intensity of precipitation is likely to be weakening over the weekend and next week. All districts are on Saturday on Yellow Alert for isolated heavy rainfall according to 16:00 weather update.
Minister of income K. Rajan, spoke to the media in Thrissur, urged people to stay on the coming days. So far, 1894 people are currently staying in 66 auxiliary camps throughout the state, Rajan said.
IMD said that strong westerlies are likely to continue in the Kerala and Lakshadweep region over the next two days. Fishermen were warned not to throw themselves away by June 1, because the weather prevails over the coast.
The southwest monsoon this year on May 24th went through Keraral. Kiela recorded 111% of excess rainfall in the period from 1 March to 30 May, which is a “large excess” in IMD.
Meanwhile, deep depression over Bangladesh and West Bengal weakened depression. It is expected that it will weaken a well -marked low -pressure area on Saturday.
