The heavy rains that have been lashing for the past two days have severely affected the normal life of residents in Arsikere and Channarayapatna taluks of Hassan district. The KSRTC bus stand in Arsikere was flooded, making it difficult for passengers waiting there to move.
Many agricultural lands in Kanakatte and Banavara hoblis of Arsikere taluk were inundated. Similarly, many public buildings were flooded by the incessant rains. Kanakatte and Banavara hoblis received 92.2 mm and 75.4 mm of rain respectively on Sunday. Showers continued on Monday, with both hoblis recording 46.2mm and 34.3mm of rainfall for the day. Parts of Alur taluk, including Palya, received light rainfall.
In Channarayapatna taluk, villages around Hirisava hobli were hit by heavy rains on Sunday. Many coconut plantations were flooded. Hirisave received 63.7 mm of rainfall in a day. Parts of Dandiganahalli, Baguru and Nuggehalli hoblis also received light rainfall.
