Rains begin in Mumbai: Heavy rainfall brings relief and disruption as netizens complain of waterlogging | Today’s news

On Wednesday morning, Mumbai woke up to a cloudy morning as numerous rain-bearing clouds moved over the city, bringing relief this summer. Around 7 am, parts of the city received moderate to heavy showers. Amidst this, social media is abuzz with netizens welcoming the rain, which is expected to continue for another one to two hours.

To celebrate rain in Mumbai, a social media user took to X and wrote, “Monsoon in Mumbai. Rain comes with a bang in Maharashtra.”

Several visuals of rain in Mumbai have taken over the microblogging platform.

Among them, another user spotted a heavy shower from Borivali, Mira Bhayandar, Dahisar and other nearby areas. “Heavy rains over Borivali, Mira Bhayandar, Dahisar. 7:17 AM,” it read.

Many online also shared visuals of waterlogged streets.

The post read: “It rained for an hour and exposed the state of our Mumbai! @mybmc are we paying taxes for this?”
