IMD on Wednesday (June 25, 2025) predicts widespread rain over West Bengal with a heavy downpour probably in some districts up to 1 July.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that under the influence of a low -pressure area, which is likely to be created along the coast of West Bengal, in some districts of South Bengal, light to medium precipitation with isolated rainfall is expected.

He stated that due to the favorable wind formulas and strong moisture invasions from the Bay of Bengal, heavy to very severe precipitation in some districts of North Bengal is very likely from 27 to 30 June.
In South Bengal, there is a heavy rain in one or two places probably in Purulia, Bankura, West Burdwan, East and West Midnapore, Jhargram, South 24 Parganas Districts, IMD said.
The North Bengal district in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Coch Behar, North and South Dinajpur are likely to get heavy rain with a very heavy downpour in one or two places in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar 28.
It is reported that the weather with a wind speed of 35 to 45 km / h, which rushed to 55 km / h, is very likely on the coast of the Bengal Odisha-West and in the Bengal northern Gulf to Thursday.
IMD warned that the seabed conditions would be very likely to advise fishermen to keep the fishermen to the sea along and off the coast of the West Bengal-Odisha and North Bay of Bengal.
Kalimpong received on Wednesday the maximum rainfall of 64 mm in 24 hours to 8:30, followed by Darjeeling of 35 mm during this period.
