
The vehicle movement on the Jammu-Srinagar NH-44 National Highway is still reportedly influenced by blockades caused by landslides and lightning floods along the route, which were caused by heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban neighborhood.
According to the latest update of the Division Commissioner for Jammu, commuting was recommended not to use the highway until the road was cleaned.
“Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) is still closed due to landslides/ mud/ shooting stones in several places. Heavy rain for the whole NHW,” DC Jammu said in post on X.
Post shared that SSG Road, Mughal Road and Sinthan Road in Jammu and Kashmir are also closed at the moment.
Srinagar traffic police also directed vehicles towards Jammu from Nowgam to return.
“Due to heavy rains last night, the national highway was closed.
Meanwhile, a serious wind storm in the Rajouri district, accompanied by thunder semons, was destroyed by Sub-Kalakote.
“The constant rain also triggered landslides and landslides on almost a dozen places between Nashi and Banihal along the strategic national highway of Jammu-Srinagar, which caused traffic to be suspended,” the officials said.
