
The confederation of all India Rail users referred to railways to perform a comprehensive security audit as a result of recurring incidents involving the expocking of Avenue trees on the railway lines and other rain -related challenges.
At a recent confederation meeting, she pointed out that several recent incidents where the railway lines were suddenly blocked by fallen trees and damaged roofing materials was a serious risk. They said two such incidents occurred within the limits of Kozhikode itself, emphasizing the urgent need for better safety measures along the tracks.
Chairman of the CV Chakkunni and Kerala Regional Conventter A. Sivasankaran said that frequent disruptions were also influenced by train services. They added that in the absence of alternative arrangements during the maintenance of the emergency route, passengers were often forced to stay on stuck trains for hours.
The confederation leaders criticized the railway authorities for failing to negotiate security warnings issued by various rescue agencies before the monsoon season. They urged increased vigilance, especially due to the growing number of passengers during the monsoon season.
The members of the Confederation also pointed out that in several cases it was possible to quickly clear the blocked songs with the support of the population. They suggested that strengthening cooperation with local communities to help railways manage such situations more efficiently.
Meanwhile, rail sources said that measures have already been taken to intensify patrols. On the basis of the instructions of higher officers, several inspection meetings were carried out to deal with concern about safety in vulnerable areas, including tunnels, bridges and waterlogged sections.
