South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava has directed police officers to take measures to prevent smoking and consumption of alcohol in running trains and on railway premises.
In a review meeting held online on safety with Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and other divisions on Monday, the GM asked the officers to conduct regular safety drives and inspections.
Mr. Srivastava reviewed the fire prevention measures and maintenance of fire accident control facilities. He also reviewed CCTV cameras installed at railway stations, warehouses and unsecured level crossings (railway barriers).
The GM has instructed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and personnel on duty to be vigilant and ensure the safety of passengers.
