The Minister of Railway Union Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday (May 9, 2025) reviewed the train operations and issued instructions for the operation of special trains with regard to the public requirements.
Indian railways organized special trains for passengers who were imprisoned to close Jammu and Chandigarh airports, a spokesman for the Ministry of Railways said.

After evaluating the situation, Mr. Vaishnaw ordered railway officials to coordinate with various government agencies and run trains to help people in border areas. Along with regular trains, special trains should also be operated as required, he said.
Four special trains were operated from Jamm and Udhampur. The railways operated the first special train 04612 from the Jammu station at 10.45 hours, which included 12 coaches of the unconditional category and 12 reserved class. The 20-trimmer Vande Bharat Express left Udhampur at 12:45 and came to Nový Delhi through Jammu and Pathankot.

At the request of the cricket board in India (BCCI), a special train with 22 LHB coaches was operated for players and officials who participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL), another Vande Bharat train. For Guwahati via Uttar Pradesh and Bihar at 23.55 hours, another insignificant special train from Jammu is planned.
