As part of the nationwide initiative to evaluate the readiness of various state agencies in addressing emergency situations, especially in the case of terrorist attacks, South Central Railway (SCR) performed a comprehensive simulated mockery of civil defense on Raichur Railway.
A reserved team of 32 members from the SCR Civil Defense organization together with supporting staff from the local railway station has actively participated in a 45 -minute exercise that began at 16:00
The drill has been designed to assess the readiness of the staff in fast and efficiently responding to crisis situations.
The demonstration simulated a number of realistic emergency scenarios, including the activation of the Airaid Siren, the evacuation of passengers and employees, the handling of unexploded bombs, the firefighters, the early and effective first aid and the transport of injured individuals without a stretcher.
It included crowd management techniques and tested the team’s ability to make quick decisions and to coordinate effectively under high pressures.
The exercise emphasized the critical importance of readiness and trouble -free coordination between various agencies to ensure security of both passengers and rail employees, during extraordinary events.
Officials present for drilling appreciated the civil defense team for their professionalism and emphasized the need for regular training exercises to increase the trust and effectiveness of respondents in the first line.
“We are part of the South Central Railway Civil Defense wings, which has a devoted team of volunteers. According to the Ministry of the Interior, we have mocked civil defense at Raichur Railway Station today. Under the SCR, they were also in Kacheguda and Aurangabad railway stations.”
He added that the purpose of these exercises is to test the ability of teams to respond to emergencies such as bomb attacks, and raise public awareness of how to manage such situations effectively.
