Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has described the illegal detention of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress MPs and all of INDIA’s alliance partners as a reflection and proof of the arrogance of the failing government.

The INDIA bloc has been protesting against the functioning of the Election Commission and has expressed concern over the revision of the electoral roll. The march on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) was aimed at moving the protest to the ECI office.

Mr. Reddy said the BJP-led government is afraid of Mr. Gandhi’s leadership to fight to save India and its constitution and commit to saving the voting rights of every Indian. “There are precedents in the history of our country. The British government also arrested Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Pundit Nehru, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose and other leaders at different times of our freedom struggle on similarly flimsy grounds,” he said.

“The British Janata Party (BJP) can rest assured; we are not backing down from our commitment and determination to stake everything for the good of the country. India will fight to the last ounce of its strength and till the democratic forces led by Rahul Gandhi prevail,” Mr Reddy added.

Asserting that BJP cannot suffocate the hope and voice of the country’s youth, he said the INDIA alliance will fight to the last ounce of its ability and till the democratic forces led by Mr. Rahul Gandhi prevail.
