The Congress on Sunday (January 18) said all arrangements have been put in place for its Maha Panchayat, which will be inaugurated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday (January 19).
More than 15,000 party representatives, including 7,848 who won the local body elections, will be honored at the meeting to be held on Marine Drive.
Mr. Gandhi, who will arrive at the Cochin International Airport at 12:45 PM, will visit noted literary critic M. Leelavathy at her residence in Thrikkakara before reaching the venue at 2:00 PM. Party leaders Sachin Pilot, Kanaiah Kumar and KJ George will be present. District Congress Committee President Muhammed Shiyas urged party workers to use Kochi Metro services to reach the venue to avoid traffic snarls.
