“We want to exceed the census and understand what is the participation of 90% of our population in the structure of power in the country … and we want to give them access to power,” he said, describing the caste census with a new paradigm of development.
Mr. Gandhi also used a press briefing to direct the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that those who participate in the terrorist attack of Pahalgam must pay the price.
“Whoever they are, wherever they are, have to pay for it, and they have to pay correctly (a) not about half way,” said Mr. Gandhi, adding: “The Prime Minister must project time, it must clearly clarify that India will not tolerate this deficiency.
The opposition leader refused to get into the timing of the notifications as a result of the terrorist attack of Pahalgam and at the end of this year to the election to the Bihar assembly. “You are a journalist; you can speculate. I work with facts,” Mr. Gandhi said in response to the question of timing of the caste census.
