Anvay Dravid, son of legendary batsman Rahul Dravid, has been named in one of the four squads for the men’s U19 One-Day Challenger Trophy, which begins in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
A top-class batsman and wicketkeeper, Anvay will represent the C team in the tournament, which serves as a key platform for budding Indian cricketers to showcase their skills.
The 17-year-old is one of Karnataka’s most promising young talents and has been impressing with consistent performances at the age group level. In the Vijay Merchant Trophy (U16), ranked first in the state running rankings last season with 459 runs in six matches at an average of 91.80, including two centuries and an unbeaten hundred.
He also recently captained Karnataka in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (U19 one-day tournament), further underscoring his leadership and batting potential.
Anvaya’s elder brother, Samit Dravid, also represented Karnataka in the Maharaja T20 KSCA Trophy as a top-order batsman.
According to a BCCI report, “The Junior Selection Committee has selected the squads for the upcoming U19 First Bank Men’s IDFC One Day Challenger Trophy to be played in Hyderabad from November 5 to 11, 2025.”
Team C, led by Aaron George, will begin their campaign against Team B, captained by Vedant Trivedi, on Friday.
