The Indian Air Force on Friday started its expected “land and go” drill in Shahjahanpur Uttar Pradesh. The aim of an exercise involving advanced fighter and aircraft, including Rafale, Jaguar and Mirage, was aimed at testing the capabilities of the highway to serve as an alternative track during emergencies or war.
The Air Force made take -off and landing exercises at Shahjahanpur Airport, which is part of the Ganga motorway in Uttar Pradesh.

Ganga Expressway is the first in Uttar Pradesh and a nation that offers the Nights of Landing. Until now, similar emergency landing exercises have been carried out on Lucknow-Agra and Purvanchal, but they were limited to daily operations.
The ability of the Indian Air Force is expected to perform operations continuously, IAF said.
“It will be the first years in the country to support daily and night landing of fighter aircraft, which makes it a strategic contribution to defense readiness. It will also serve as an air force training and a test base,” IAF reads.
Drill “land and go”
Students from different schools and locals were among those who flock to follow the demonstrations of a flight inspiring on the highway.
The District Administration confirmed that the air show will be held in two phases – one during the day and another at night – to test the ability of the airport for night landing.
As part of the exercises, fighter aircraft will carry out flies with low heights of just one meter above the ground, followed by landing and take -off exercises. The same routine will be reopened between 19:00 and 22:00, reported nor.
Around 250 CCTV cameras along both sides of the airport were also established to ensure strict security. In front of the aviation show, the Indian Air Force took over for operations in the section and worked closely with officials from Uttar Pradesh Expressways Authority Authority (UPEIDA).
Rafale, Su-30 and other IAF aircraft
The IAF study includes a number of IAF aircraft, including Rafale, Su-30 MKI, Mirage-2000, MiG-29, Jaguar, C-130J Super Hercules, An-32 and Mi-17 V5 Helicopters.
