Rafael Nadal and his wife Maria Francisco Perello warmly welcomed their second child, a boy named Miquel. Miquel’s birth was born on August 7 at the Quironsalud Palmaplanas Hospital in Palma, Mallorca, Miquel’s birth is a joyful complement to the growing family of the couple.
The name Miquel bears sincere meaning because it honors Maria’s father who died in April 2023 at the age of 63 years after a long illness. This meaningful choice emphasizes the strong family ties of the couple and their respect for loved ones.
This happy opportunity comes shortly after Nadal left a professional tennis in November 2024. Termination of a famous career with 22 Grand Slam titles and 92 ATP Singles now focuses on family life and new personal businesses.
The first son of the couple, Rafael Jr., was born in October 2022 and is now almost three years. With Miquel’s arrival, the family grows and brings even more joy to life.
Nadal’s relationship with Maria began in 2005, presented by his sister. After getting to know for 14 years in October 2019, they married a private ceremony in Majorca. Maria, who holds the title in business management, is currently working as a project director for the Rafael Nadal Foundation.
Last year, Nadal left after the Davis Cup match against the Netherlands in Malaga. As the main reason he quoted continuing injuries in the previous two years and explained that he could no longer compete without restriction. Especially Nadal holds the record for the most titles of the French Open, with 14 in his name.
