The state government has decided to name the upcoming greenfield radial connecting the Nehru Outer Ring Road at Raviryal with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) after Ratan Tata.
The interchange at Raviryal is already named after Ratan Tata, ‘Tata Interchange’. In another proposal, the first of its kind, the government has decided to name a road after US President Donald Trump. The high-profile road along the United States Consulate General in the nation’s capital would be named ‘Donald Trump Avenue’.
The state government has decided to address a communication to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Embassy informing them of the plans. The development follows Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s announcement of the government’s decision to name important roads in Hyderabad after leading global corporations. The chief minister made the announcement at the annual conclave of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in Delhi earlier this year.
It was also decided to name a prominent stretch as “Google Street”, recognizing the global impact and contribution of Google Maps and the company. The drive along its upcoming campus, to be Google’s largest outside the US, in Hyderabad’s financial district, will be duly acknowledged.
These proposals form part of the Telangana government’s initiative to make the state a symbol of innovation-driven India. Additionally, Microsoft and Wipro are likely to get credit for the city’s topography with Wipro Junction and Microsoft Road, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision.
