Rachakond police launched a campaign against illegal modifications of motorcycle shock absorber to deal with noise pollution. A special drive resulted in reserve 2,325 cases and confiscated 1,297 illegally modified shock absorbers. The seized objects were publicly destroyed in Spapal Bhagayath in the presence of leadership and rights and order.
This step is in line with the National Program of Clean Air (NCAP) and the Mission Life Campaign campaign, which aims to face the growing threat of cities pollution and support sustainable procedures. Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu said that the rocket around modified shock absorbers not only violates traffic standards, but also worsens the noise and air pollution, which is a serious risk to public health.
“These adjustments are more than just a fashion statement for bikers looking for excitement,” the officer said, adding that they were a threat to every pedestrian and commuting caught the courage of an unregulated engine or explosion of a pressure corner.
The Commissioner quoted several studies associated with long -term exposure of noise from operation with cardiovascular diseases, especially between adults and seniors. It is also known that excessive noise causes respiratory problems, high blood pressure, sleep disorders, memory problems and psychological stress.
According to Section 190 (2) of the Motor Vehicles Act (MV), cyclists are caught using modified shock absorbers or pressure corners that exceed 80 decibels, face fines of up to 10,000 GBP and imprisonment for up to six months. Workshops and sellers have also been warned, and those who have been found to be suitable for illegal shock absorbers may face similar legal measures.
Citizens are recommended to report violators and work with the campaign on cleaner air and safer roads.
