Rachakonda she captured up to 198 men in the last fortnight, including 115 minors, for harassing women in public spaces. From 1 to 15 July received 229 complaints for women’s safety wing and the action was accepted on the basis of the nature of each incident.
Of the 229 complaints received, 40 included harassing the phone, 85 was associated with abuse of social media and 104 direct cases of public harassment. Five complaints led to criminal ages, formally recorded 74 and 122 resulted in counseling. Advice was kept in the LB Nagar CP Camp, in the presence of families and advisors.
In one case, the Hotel Kuchař was arrested after he harassed his former employer by sending obscene reports and pictures. The accused was previously released due to poor behavior and turning drunk at work. After his release, he began sending gross and obscene material to the woman, which led to criminal proceedings and his arrest.
In another case, a man working at the metro station repeatedly harassed his married female colleague and insisted that she was in a relationship with him. She showed that she wasn’t interested, but harassment continued. After filing the complaint he was eventually arrested.
At the Yadagirigutta bus booth, officers responded to the reports of harassment and arrested a group of men who caused trouble in this area. The teams also carried out surprising checks on Hyderabad metro trains and caught seven men of passengers in women’s sections. The fines were imposed by metro officials.
Police Commissioner Rachakond G. Sudheer Babu said the police would not tolerate harassment in any form. “There will be strict action. The teams are on the ground, bus stalls, metro stations, universities and public places, watching and playing,” he said. Teams in ordinary clothing perform bait operations, arrest the perpetrators and produce them in court.
