Former Indian Spinner R. Ashwin believes that the all-Rounder Ravindra star, the most experienced player on the current test party, should be considered for the leading role in the next two years.
BCCI selectionists are expected to announce in the last week of the Indian Group for a test tour after England and participated in the discussion of the new captain in their choice.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s retirement In front of the English series, they created a lead vacuum on the Indian test side. While media reports suggest that SHUBMAN GILL is a pioneer who will replace Rohit as a captain, several former crickets supported Jasprit Bumhrah’s candidacy.
While Ashwin agreed to tell that Jasprit Bumrah was a strong candidate for concerns about his workload-he also got into the mix by a “surreptitable sign” by proposing a new name for leadership.
Ashwin spoke on his Youtube Ash Ki Baat show, appreciated the shortness of SHUBMAN GILL, and remembered the match of the young man in England early this year in Ranchi and Dharamsale. However, he stressed that Jadeja deserves a serious consideration of the captain.
Jadeja is now the most experienced player in the Indian team, with 3,370 runs and 323 gates in 80 test matches.

“Let’s not forget Jadeja is the most experienced player on the team. He should be in an interview. If you are willing to train a new guy for two years and then make him captain, Jadeja can also do him for two years.
Ashwin also said that the good season with the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 could increase Gill’s chance to become another Indian test captain, but the young dough should also watch the home cricket to choose the best playing XI for India if it gets a leading role.
“I hope that Gujarat Titani qualifies for the playoffs of IPL. If Gill gains the honor, it can make it easier to move to the management. Captain, especially in tests, is not about one good season. The leader should know what is happening in first-class crickets,” he added.
