Qualcomm recently announced a partnership with Croma, a leading consumer electronics retail chain, to launch its first Snapdragon experience zone in India. Located in the Croma store in Juhu, Mumbai, it is part of the company’s broader plan to launch more Snapdragon experience areas nationwide. Through this collaboration, visitors can experience display devices powered by Snapdragon Soc and demonstrate their capabilities, including devices powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
Croma’s Snapdragon Experience Area
According to the company, the Snapdragon experience area presents ecosystem products such as smartphones, PCs, wearables and audio products powered by Qualcomm processors. The store includes trained staff to provide demonstrations of chip functionality, including its AI capabilities on the device.
Customers can interact with these devices for hands-on experiences and seek expert advice from employees.
“The program enables customers to experience the transformation of device AI, demonstrating the cutting-edge capabilities of the Snapdragon ecosystem,” said Savi Soin, president of Qualcomm India, India, during the release.
The company has confirmed that it plans to launch more experience zones in India soon, although plans for its proposed location remain unknown. It is worth noting that the announcement comes ahead of the Snapdragon X CPU that was partnered with Asus in New Delhi today (February 24).
Similar to their global counterparts, the Snapdragon X CPU may provide support for AI capabilities and leverage dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs). The platform is expected to be scalable over a wide range of thermal designs and form factors.
The company hopes its new platform will power laptops priced under $600 (approximately Rs 51,400) worldwide, and a similar strategy could be adopted in the Indian market. The campaign has been tagged as “Everyone’s AI PC”, which suggests that the new processor can provide AI performance at an affordable price.
