65 -year -old charlatan was arrested on Sunday for providing regulations and treatment to patients in his clinical CUM pharmacy in the village of Sandakuppam near the city of Ambur in Tirupatura.
Health officials stated that the arrested quack was identified as S. Palanijan, a native of tirupatura. He attended a diploma course at the pharmacy. For the past few years, medical treatment has been offered to patients in the village without professional qualifications. He transferred his rented house to a clinic and a pharmacy for patients in a distant village. Every day, on average 35-50 patients visit his pharmacy.
Health officials suspected his activities. A special medical team led by V. Gnana Meenakshi, a joint director of the medical services, carried out a surprising control.
The clinic and the pharmacy were closed. The team also confiscated medical equipment, including the apparatus of blood pressure, stethoscope and syringes. The Ambur Taluk police registered the case before it was stored in a sub-yail in Tirupattur. The probe is running.
