Kagaznagar rural police on Saturday arrested an unqualified doctor for allegedly administering high doses of injections to a sick girl from Koyavagu village, resulting in her recent death.
Police identified the accused as Bikshapathi, 44, a resident of Sirsilk Colony in Kagaznagar.
Bikshapathi ran a first aid clinic in Koyavag for many years without the required medical qualifications, police said.
On November 11, in Koyavagu, he allegedly administered higher doses of the injection to a sick girl, identified as Akshara, who complained of repeated bouts of vomiting.
When the girl’s health deteriorated, her parents admitted her to a private hospital in Hyderabad a few days later.
She was subsequently transferred to another hospital in the city as she developed complications of kidney failure.
The girl died during treatment at the hospital on December 29.
