Officials of the Public Work Department (PWD) were ordered to ensure early completion of operational contracts.
PA Mohamed Riyas, who convened the Minister of Public Work and Tourism to assess the maintenance of roads within PWD, ordered officials to ensure road maintenance in time.
A contractual system of contracts has been introduced in the state to ensure early maintenance and maintenance of roads. Approximately 90% of roads are maintained in good condition through contracts. However, officials should ensure that the developmental development on some roads during the rainy season at least temporarily close. There should be no forfeiture in this respect. The inspection of officials responsible for roads should continue to be currently being carried out. The Minister also ordered the inspection reports to be evaluated daily to the secretary level.
Once the rain stops, regular maintenance work should be completed during the specified day, the Minister said. Strict steps will be taken against officials who have committed any forfeiture, he said. The Minister also suggested that special advice should be installed to inform the public about the transfer of roads for public aids, including the Keral Authority, as well as the liability time against defects (DLP).
