Hi friends! How’s your day going so far? I hope it’s been amazing! I taught a Barre class earlier and am looking forward to getting back home. My husband has been traveling for work (he’s back in advertising after leaving the military), so things have been a bit chaotic around here.
For today’s post, I wanted to share an updated review of P.volve. I fell in love with P.volve a few years ago, and I’m so excited about their rebranding and the expansion of their studios across the US. P.volve is an excellent, challenging workout that’s low-impact and not overly intense, making it a great option if you’re on a healing journey or just looking for something different.

P.volve Review: Is It Worth It?
Background
P.volve is unlike anything I’ve ever tried—and I’ve been around the fitness block! It was created by two remarkable individuals, Stephen Pasterino and Rachel Katzman. Stephen, the fitness guru behind the method, developed P.volve after years of research and experience. His goal was to create a fitness solution that not only transforms your body but also enhances functionality and prevents injuries.
- Stephen Pasterino: With a background in kinesiology and functional movement, Stephen aimed to develop a workout that not only sculpts muscles but also improves the way your body moves.
- Rachel Katzman: As co-founder and CEO, Rachel brought her business acumen to the table. Her vision was to create an accessible, results-driven fitness program tailored to the unique needs and lifestyles of individuals.
The two were previously together but have since parted ways, with Rachel taking full control of P.volve. Stephen has moved on to other ventures. While I loved the method he helped create, I found the format to be a bit low-energy as an instructor.
The P.volve Method

- Live Classes: If you don’t live near a studio, you can take live virtual classes daily. I’ve taken a few, and they’re super interactive—instructors even correct your form if you have your camera on. (Shoutout to Dani, my favorite instructor!)

Cons of P.volve
- Equipment Required: While you can do some P.volve workouts without equipment, you’ll need specialized tools to fully engage in the program. These include the P.ball (a small Pilates ball with an adjustable resistance loop), the P.band (a resistance band with loops for wrists or ankles), gliders, and a slant board.
- Online Access: P.volve primarily offers its workouts through an online platform, which may not be ideal if you prefer in-person classes. Studios are popping up across the US, so check if there’s one near you!
- Learning Curve: The unique movements and techniques can take some getting used to, especially exercises involving internal rotation, which isn’t common in traditional fitness.
- Intensity: If you’re looking for a high-intensity, sweat-dripping workout, P.volve might not be your first choice.

I’ve had the opportunity to take live P.volve classes in San Diego and Scottsdale. While the online options are convenient, there’s something magical about in-person group fitness. The studios were beautiful, and I got an amazing workout. Each class felt different, challenging me in new ways and targeting muscles I didn’t even know I had!
