Russian President Vladimir Putin informed US President Donald Trump that Moscow remains determined to achieve his goals in Ukraine and at the same time maintain a commitment to negotiate aiming to resolve the conflict, Kreml said on Thursday.
“Our president said that Russia will achieve the goals it has set, that is, the main causes that led to the current situation,” said Kreml Aide Yuri Ushakov to journalists after a telephone call of leaders. “Russia will not give up these goals.”
“The Russian side emphasized the importance of solving all questionable questions, disagreements and conflict situations exclusively by politician-diPlomatic means,” Ushakov also said.
“He also talked about the readiness of the Russian party to continue the negotiation process,” Ushakov added, saying that the call took almost an hour.
Ushakov said that Putin emphasized the need to solve the problem of Iran only by diplomatic means.
During their last call in June, Trump and Putin also talked about the conflict of Israeli and Iran. As an ally from Iran, Russia has proposed to serve as an intermediary in the Middle East, where tension persists over Teheránské nuclear ambitions, although Trump secured a ceasefire with Israel.
Trump’s administration suspends the supply of weapons to Ukraine
Trump’s administration stopped the transfers of key artillery and air systems to Ukraine, although Russia intensifies its attacks.
Shipments of 155mm artillery wheels and Patriot Air-Defense batteries will be reportedly suspended, while the Pentagon reviews the US ammunition stores and quotes that the supplies have dropped to a critically low level. The decision comes only a few days after Russia released a record fire of rockets and drones against Ukrainian cities in the fourth year of conflict.

Trump’s promise to end the war stalls
President Trump entered his second term, which promised to provide the rapid end of the war, but the efforts to bring Moscow and Kiev have failed into the negotiating table. Putin has so far refused to call for military operations or conduct direct conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlensky.
While the conduct of officials at a lower level brought limited progress, including the swaps of prisoners, there were no significant breakthroughs to end the struggle.
Trump’s frustration
Trump has become increasingly impatient about the lack of progress, sometimes suggests that he can leave attempts at mediation if no party shows the willingness of compromise.

The Kremlin refuses to accuse us of stopping peace interviews Ukraine
On Tuesday (July 1), the Kremlin rejected the accusation that Moscow would deliberately delay peace negotiations with Ukraine because Russian forces claimed full control over Ukraine Eastern Luhansk.
Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, criticized Moscow for extending the interviews and amplifying attacks.
“Russia can no longer stop over time, while in Ukraine bombing civilian goals,” Kellogg told journalists on Monday (June 30).
In response to the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused the accusation and insisted that Russia remains committed to diplomacy.
“Nobody came here,” Peskov said in briefing in Moscow. “We are naturally for achieving the goals that we try to achieve through a special military operation by political and diplomatic means. Therefore, we are not interested in drawing anything.”
He added that the date of the next round of peace interviews must still be agreed.
Last Friday (June 27) Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow was ready to continue negotiations, potentially in Istanbul.
Trump: “It’s a mess for him”
President Trump, who spoke on June 25 in the Hague on the edge of the NATO summit, said Putin was looking for a way to leave the conflict.
“He would like to get out of this thing. It’s a mess for him,” Trump said, revealing that Putin recently called him to help in Iran. “I said,” No, you can help me with Russia. “”
Trump also characterized Putin as “misleading” at the start of the invasion. “Actually, I’m very surprised,” he added. “I thought we would settle so easily.”
The war, now entering its fourth year, will continue to crush without a clear way to a comprehensive settlement.
