The Chinese diplomat was criticized by the White House’s press secretary and the spokesman of Donald Trump Karoline Leavitt for a dress made of Chinese lace. Diplomat accused Trump’s administration of using tariffs against China for “business”, although everyday practicality remains different.
Zhang Zhisheng, which identifies itself as the current general consul of the People’s Republic of China in Denpasar, Indonesia and the former CG in Zanzibar, Tanzania on the Social Media Platform (formerly known as Twitter), called Leitt for having a dress allegedly made of Chinese lace.
“China accusation is a business, buying China’s life,” says diplomat
“China blaming is a business. Buy China is life. Beautiful lace on the dress was recognized by a Chinese company employee as its product,” wrote Diplomat Zhang on X.
He attached a picture of the dresses and screenshots from Netizens to Weibo (aka Chinese Twitter), including one who identified the lace for leitt -red clothing as a factory in Mabu (China) where they are employed.
One Weibo user said, “Clothing is made in China and shouts every day to boycott China.”
While another identified the source and said, “Lace on the collar and placket of this dress was woven in the city of Mabu. It was colored by our factory.”
