Punjab and Haryana were put on high alert on Monday following a powerful blast near the Red Fort in Delhi.

The Punjab Police said in a statement that a red alert has been issued in all districts in Punjab following the blast in Delhi. “Commissioners of Police/Chief Inspectors of Police have been asked to remain alert. Police forces have been deployed at sensitive and vulnerable locations and checks on vehicles and suspicious persons have been intensified,” the statement said.
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh said the state has been put on high alert. “All police officers are in their respective areas. Vehicle checks are being done at inter-state borders. Public transport, parking areas, hotels etc are also being checked,” Mr Singh said in a post on the X social media platform.
“Special vigilance is being maintained in the National Capital Districts (NCR),” the DGP said.
