The 22 -year -old woman was reportedly raped by a person acting as a courier delivery manager after he had entered the apartment, the police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 19:30 in a luxury company in the Pune’s Kondhwa area, they said.
The police officer said that the woman was alone at the time the incident occurred.
“According to preliminary information, the woman was alone in her apartment because her brother went to work. Around 19:30, the man allegedly gained joining the apartment by acting as a courier and allegedly raped a woman,” the officer said.
Zone 5 Pune City DCP Rajkumar Shinde said that a crime was registered under various parts of BNS, which remains unidentified.
“Under the jurisdiction of Kondhwa PS from PUNE City, a crime under BNS 64, 77 and 351 (2) sections (2),” he said.
Then the accused fled from the place.
Spray, selfie and threat
Shinde gave the details of the incident and said that the man came up with a bank envelope and asked the woman to sign her.
“Yesterday around 19:30, a delivery boy with a bank envelope entered the apartment of a 22 -year -old woman. When she went inside her house to get a pin for a courier, he closed the door (and raped her),” he said.
The second higher police officer further stated that before rape on the woman there were reports of the accused before he raped her. However, the same should have been confirmed.
According to News18 report, the man sprayed something on the woman before committing a crime.
“The woman was unconscious at 7:30 pm. Forensic experts were asked to check (if something sprayed at her),” Shinde said.
Shinde also said the accused had clicked on a selfie on a woman’s phone.
“Selfie has been found in the female phone. We analyze it.”
According to the NewS18, he also left a cool comment on his phone, which said, “I will come back”.
“A total of 10 teams, five branches of crime and five Zonal teams are working on the case,” Shinde told reporters.
