
PUNE JOUNDING ASFUL: Up to 12 people, including MoLSC students, were injured after a car in the Sadashiv Peth in Pune City was thrown into them on Saturday evening in Sadashiv Peth in Pune City, the police said.
Victims, including several students appearing for the Mahashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), stood around the tea stand when the car hit them, said Vijaymala’s inspector Par from Vishrambag police station.
The victims suffered serious leg injuries, rushed to the hospital
Of the 12 wounded, the girl and four others suffered severe foot injuries. All injuries were immediately rushed to Sancheti hospitals and modak for medical care, police officials told the local media.
The tragic incident took place near the Bhave school around 17:45, PTI reported.
Car driver taken into custody
Two people, including the driver of the car, were taken into custody and their medical tests are performed to see if they are under the influence, added a higher inspector.
How did the accident occur?
The driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol and hit several vehicles and passers -by before hitting the tea stand, police officials said.
“The driver was under the influence of alcohol. The car hit more vehicles and pedestrians before hitting a tea stand,” the local media quoted Inspector Paware.
One killed in Pune after a drunk driver hit a motorcycle
At the beginning of the month, the motorcycle rider died after the Wadgaon Bridge bridge hit the section of the Wadgaon bridge on the Pune – Bengalur highway.
The police said all four car residents, including the driver, were under the influence of alcohol during the accident. Two of them – Bhosale and Ranawade – were arrested on the scene, while the other two who suffered injuries were taken into custody after receiving the medical treatment that day.
