Weather PUNE: IMD prognosis
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released on Monday in Pune Alert in Pune. The forecast is valid until 7:00.
Red Alert was also released by SOLAPUR and AHMEDNAGAR. Meanwhile, orange alerts were issued in Thane and Raigad. Several other areas of Maharashtra, including Nashik, Palghar, Jalana and Nagpur, are on a yellow warning.
In Mumbai, IMD released a yellow warning and predicted: “A storm accompanied by lightning, heavy rainfall and impact winds (30-40 km / h) in isolated places.”
On Sunday (September 14) IMD predicted the next days of “heavy to very strong rainfall” over the northeast states and Maharashtra. The MET department also sounded a yellow warning to September 18 for isolated parts across Konan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwad and Vidarbha.
“Light to medium rain/storm at many/in many places with isolated heavy rainfall probably over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathawad on 16 September with very difficult falls through Konan & Goa Madhya, Mahashtra and 15 September,” IMD read.
Meanwhile, The Times of India said three of the four dams that provide water to Pune areas were given rainfall. The Varasgaon flood areas recorded 21 mm, while Panshet (20 mm) and Temghar (3 mm) received a shower. Currently, the total storage of dams is 29.09 TMC, 997.9% compared to their overall capacity.

When heavy rainfall strengthened parts of Pune late on Sunday evening, Netizens flooded the social media videos that show lightning they described as “crackling” and “terrible”.

One user also said: “In accordance with the IMD forecast, the heavy rainwater will turn most of the city of Pune City at 12:13 #punerains video from SUS PUNE.”
