
The new English Captain Odi and T20i Harry Brook said it wasn’t an easy call to skip IPL this season, but eventually admitted it was the right decision for him. Brook bought Delhi Capitals for 6.5 crore rupees, but then decided to pull out of the tournament just before the IPL 2025 campaign started. When he spoke of the decision, as ICC quoted, Brook said he had to try to manage his workload because he was involved in many crickets in the last and half years and would be more forward. “Having this period after I decided to pull out of IPL was the right decision for me. It wasn’t an easy decision, of course, but I have to try to manage my work.
“I’m not sure how much franchise cricket I will play in the near future, but my priority is definitely playing for England and I try to play for England as much as possible,” Brook said.
‘For a proud moment for me’
Brook got a job as a captain from New England White-Ball After Jos Buttler decided to step after the debacle of Trophy Champions. The 26 -year -old said he was a proud moment for him to be a new captain, and said he had taken a job with an open arms when he was offered.
“It is obviously a very proud moment for me and for anyone who played a role in my career, I look forward to what will come in the future,” Brook said.
“For a while, it was all in the air, as everyone knows, I found out last week. Keysy (Rob Key, CEO of the English Men’s cricket) and Baz (Brendon McCullum, head coach) rang me and when they told me I took it with open arms.”
