Pakistani management Super League in an effort to minimize the direct clash of the broadcast time with the Indian Premier League planned its matches an hour after the start of the IPL matches. Salman NASEER, CEO of PSL, said in the podcast that PSL will start at 20:00, an hour after the IPL games start at 7 pst.
PSL will start in Rawalpindi on Friday, April 11. This is the first time that two leagues have begun, that they clash in the same window. NASEER said that at the beginning of this year he has no choice but to plan PSL in the window of April May for a wrapped calendar.
“This is not an ideal situation, but we are sure that PSL has its own fan base and attracts the usual eyeballs,” Nasheer said.
“PSL has always produced a quality competitive cricket and this year we should also see the same and cricket fans anywhere, at the end of the day, just wants to see competitive and fun matches,” he said.
He said that since PSL was in the 10th year, several new things have been added to transmit top quality. NASEER added that one of the advantages that Psl had in the same window as IPL was that the franchises were able to sign some renowned overseas stars that did not perform at the IPL auction.
He also said that PSL had received questions from the parties to the purchase of two new teams that will be added to the tournament by next year.
Psl vs psl franchise?
As to the question of rocky relations between some of the owners of franchise and PSL management, some of whom have publicly emerged on the PCB for handling the league, he said that it is not appropriate for someone to wash dirty laundry in public.
“Look, we would think that all franchises have benefited from their connection with PSL over the years. But we also feel that instead of disclosing, it would be best if they spoke and told us about any problems they could have.”
NASEER said that all franchise owners will now be provided with revised fees for the next 10 years and all had the right to accept the PCB offer or decide otherwise.
