Mr. Natekar, who addressed Prespersons on Friday, urged the center to release at least 200 Crore in the pilgrimage and spiritual augmentation drive (Pig), which focuses on the development of pilgrimage sites.
The temple generates the annual revenue of Crore 4 Crore up to 5 crore through gifts and offers, said Mr. Natekar, adding that temple funds are not effectively used to develop infrastructure.
The state government should focus on the development of infrastructure, including improved access roads, the construction of the Yatri Nivas and the canteens for devotees to ensure adequate food and shelters for pilgrims, he said.
Mr. Natekar also demanded that the temple administration be kept clean around Sangam Kshetra, the confluence of the Bhima and Amarja rivers, which are located at Datatrey’s temple, as well as for the provision of parking and toilet facilities near Sangam.
The population will participate together with Mr. Natekar in the indefinite Dharna, which will start outside the Temple of 17th April.
