Unlimited agitation of the assistants of lecturers and guest lecturers of the Karnatak University and its constitutional universities requiring meetings of various requirements, including higher reward, entered the fourth day on Thursday and protesting teachers decided to continue agitation.
The main demand of lecturers and guest assistants is that the Syndicate decision adopted in September 2022 should be made to increase remuneration from 28,000 to 40,000 ₹.
On Thursday, who addressed the protesters, teacher and activist Mohan Siddhanti that Karnatak University had encountered the injustice of guest lecturers by not making his own decision on the Syndicate meeting.
Laxman Bakkai activist took part in the protest to express solidarity with teachers.
President of Karnatak University Assistant/Host Lectures Association Sharan Mushtigeri said that although the association has been patiently waiting in the last three years, the government and university leadership showed the least concerns about their situation that disappointed them.
He announced that they would continue agitation until all their requirements were met.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Association Mahadev Arera was moved to the district hospital, who experienced chest pain during the protest.
Together with the implementation of the ranking of increased remuneration, teachers want their services to continue all 12 months with reward and returning the earlier system of liberation of teachers with more than three years of experience that appear on annual interviews.
Unlimited agitation started on March 24.
On Thursday with representatives of Karnatak University Management, including the reigning vice -chairman Jayashree S. met with protesters and in vain tried to persuade them to withdraw the protest.
