Before the key meeting of the Chief Minister Siddaramahauh on Friday with Devanahalli Taluk, who demand the shelves for the acquisition of their land for the air park, social activist Medha Patkar wrote a letter referring to his “conscience” to take people’s opinions and “perspective” and restored the project.
Also the national leaders of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), including Rchessh Tikait, who arrived in Karnataka to meet protesting farmers, not only called on the main minister to consider the demand of farmers, but also warn against intensified agitation unless the land is stored. On Friday they are also prepared to support the State Convention called “Save Our Lands” called “Save Our Lands” to support farmers.
Lengthy
Farmers from Channaayapatna Hobli from Devanahalli Taluk protest for 1,186 days and demand that the announcement of obtaining 1,777 acres of land in 13 taluc villages is postponed. When their protest became a broad foundation with various progressive organizations that lend their support, the main minister convened a meeting with his representatives in Bengalur on Friday to discuss their demand.
When the countdown began for the much -awaited meeting with the main minister, Medha Patkar said in her letter: “I appeal to your conscience and cabinet ministers, including Minister of Industry MB Patil to realize people’s opinions and perspective and cancel the proposed project and save their livelihood.”
During UPA mode
She also said: “You know it was the former UPA government regime, during which the 2013 Larr Act was approved, and this provided great relief to the people affected by the project because they were given space and participation rights in the decision -making process.
She hoped that the government under Mr. Siddaramaiaha’s rudder would not bypass these participating and democratic decision -making processes. “We are also expecting to stand with farmers, small traders and all those whose living depends on a country proposed to be obtained for an industrial estate,” she said.
“We would like industries to be equally decentralized and prefer these small industries, cottage industries, a village industry that would generate employment rather than mega Industry. Also, the land should be used for non -agricultural purposes and not the main agricultural land.”
Previously, the National leaders of SKM, earlier, addressed a press conference in Bengalur, hoping that the main minister would respond positively to farmers’ demands. They stated that the main minister should send a message to BJP states that he is in favor of farmers by stopping the project.
Preliminary promise
They point out that he assured farmers before the elections that he had canceled this project, if they voted to power, claimed that the project racks should be the first decision to make.
Meanwhile, the national alliance of agrarian communities and the national alliance of folk movements also sent a letter to the main minister and called on him to stand up with farmers.
In the further development, Mr. Siddaramaiah, Mr. Patil and other officials and ministers, organized a marathon meeting on Thursday to discuss this matter.
