
The protest against the WAKF law (amendment), 2025, will take place on Saturday at Eidgah Maidan in Tilak Nagar, Mysuru.
The Chairman of the Karnataka for the Exhibition Office (Kea) Ayub Khan, who organized a press conference together with Muslim religious leaders of Mysur on Friday, said he was organized a peaceful protest to oppose the main changes to the WAKF law in 2013 by the chairman of Minister Narendra Modi.
The call for protest against the WAKF law (amendment), 2025, was issued by religious leaders who gathered under the auspices of all India Muslim personal rights (Aimplb).
“This law is unconstitutional and goes against religious freedom and secular principles. It is politically motivated and reflects prejudices towards Muslims. The law imposes excessive restrictions on the Muslim community and can lead to negative consequences and conflict with regard to WAKF issues in the future.”
On Saturday there will be a peaceful protest demonstration led by Sarkhazi of Mysuru Maulan Usman Sharief and Muftti management Syed Tajuddin.
The protest was supported by various progressive organizations, Dalit organizations and agricultural organizations.
At the press conference were also also present chairman of the Karnataka State Backward Classes KS Shivaram, Mufti Syed Tajuddin, Maulan Mohammed Zakaulla and Maulan Ayub Ansari.
Meanwhile, the former Minister and Congress of the MLA representing Narasimharaja gathering of the Tanveer Sait constituency and SDPI leader Abdul Majed two days ago visited Eidgah Maidan to evaluate preparations for demonstration.
