On Tuesday, there was a protest against the transfer of the center to raise LPG cylinders by 50 GBP in the city.
The former MLA Somaskekar has a demonstration against an increase in LPG cylinder prices and an increase in excise tax on gasoline and diesel by 2 liters in Ramaswamy Circle on Tuesday.
Several congress workers from different parts of the city joined the demonstration by holding labels. It can be noted that the Center has already shown that the increase in excise duty on gasoline and diesel will be absorbed by the state oil company and the burden of the hike will not be transferred to consumers.
When he was involved in the assembly, Mr. Somaskekar said that the Center announced an increase in the LPG prices on the day when the state of BJP launched its Janakros Yatre in Mysuro against the increase in prices according to the Congress Rule in Karnataka.
Mr. Somaskekar justified that the hike in milk prices by the state government would benefit farmers, for whom it is difficult to cope not only with the general increase in price, but also input costs for agriculture.
He said it was unfortunate that BJP uses a price increase to screen the pro-context warranty programs of the state government in poor light. He also questioned the center step to raise the price of fuel when international oil prices decrease.
