The President nominated former diplomat Harsh Rekringly, a special prosecutor in Ajmal Kasab Case Ujjwal, historian Meenakshi Jain and teacher Keral C. Sadanandan Master to Rajya Sabha, referring to two high profiles to the upper house.
In the announcement issued on Saturday (July 12, 2025) the Ministry of the Interior of the Union stated that the President had nominated four to occupy vacancies caused by retirement of nominated members. In total, President of India nominates 12 people as her nominated for Rajya Sabha – people known for their eminence in the fields of art and letters and public service. Of these 12, four seats are currently unoccupied.

Hard Vardhan Rekringl, retired by the Diplomat of Indian Foreign Services (IFS), served as an Indian Foreign Minister and as an Ambassador in the United States. Previously, Mr Reklingla worked as an Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh. He graduated from the University of Delhi at the University of St. Stephen, Mr. Rekringla worked in public sectors before joining as an IFS officer (1984 Batch). Mr Shingla in his first task of the ambassadorial served Thailand for two years.
He also received charges as the G-20 Summit coordinator that India first hosted across several cities in November 2023.
Ujjwal, a famous lawyer, represented Maharashtra in several court cases, the most remarkable is the special prosecutor in the terrorist proceedings in Mumbai 26/11 with Ajmal Kasab and the Bombay Bombay case of 1991. Mr Nice was also the recipient of several awards for his contribution to the legal field.
In 2024, BJP was built as a candidate from Maharashtra’s North Seat and replaced Poonam Mahajan.
C Sadanandan master, veteran of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) from the Kannur district in Kerala, is considered a “live martyr” aside after he lost both legs in the suspicious Communist Party (Marxista) (CPI (M)) in 1994.
Mr. Sadanandan Master worked as a president of the National Union of Teachers and is an active member of the Think tank Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Bharatiya Vichara Kendram.
Dr. Meenakshi Jain, a well -known historian, worked as a associate professor of History at Gargi College at Delhi University. She served as a member of the Nezru Memorial Museum and Library, a member of the Government Council of the Indian Council of Historical Research and was a head of the Indian Council for Social Science Research.
Her most remarkable works include: Battle about the frame: case of a temple in Ayodhya, Sati: evangelic, Baptist missionaries and changing colonial discourse, parallel paths: essays about Hindu and Muslim relationships, years of deities and re -birth of temples.
Dr. Jain was also awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civil prize in India, for its contribution to literature and education.
