The Karnataka Prisons Department’s proposal to shift Prajwal Revanna, former Hassan MP serving a life sentence in a rape case, from Parappana Agrahara Central Jail has been put on hold.

According to prison department sources, Revanna was supposed to be shifted to Hindalga jail, but the shift was delayed due to “administrative and technical” reasons.

The development comes on the heels of Revanna being allegedly found in possession of a mobile phone during a Central Crime Branch (CCB) raid on the jail on August 11.

Recently, the Parappana Agrahara police obtained an arrest warrant to further investigate the case. Police were seeking his custody to find out how the banned phone got to Revanna and how it was used in the prison.
