The Olympic Association (IOA) has established a committee for finding out the facts investigating a long -term delay in the elections in India (BFI), although on Sunday the Provisional Federation Panel repeated its obligation to organize public opinion surveys by August 31.
The three -member committee, founded on July 11, is chaired by the treasurer IOA Sahdev Yadav and includes a member of the Executive Council of IOA BHUPENDER SINGH BAJWA and advocate Payal Kakra. The panel was entrusted to examine the legal and administrative status of the BFI and the evaluation of the impact of the delay on the administration of sport in the country.
In the official order of IOA, President PT Usha said that the committee would also map a plan to ensure “fair and timely elections”, which recommends the necessary measures, including coordination with the world boxing. The panel is expected to submit its findings within a week.
“The tradition of the current BFI Executive Committee ended on February 2 and has not been made new elections since then,” USha said.
The Committee Formation is followed by a letter 5 July from the Ministry of Sport, which urges IOA to invent a mechanism after consulting the world box to speed up the elections in accordance with the National Sports Code, 2011 and BFI.
Usha had previously met the World Box President Boris van der Vorst in Lausanne to discuss the hopeless situation.
Legal quarrel and interim supervision
Originally scheduled for March 28, the BFI elections were repeatedly stopped due to legal challenges, appeal and counter -papers. With the world boxing, he created a world box to maintain operational continuity, led by Ajay Singhem with a six -member provisional commission with a 90 -day mandate. This term has now been extended, with a renewed call to close the elections by the end of August.
Despite the new IOA probe, one position remains unoccupied in the provisional commission, while the USha still names the final member.
The BFI panel says the election process on the track
The Executive Director of BFI and a member of the ARUN Malik Temporary Committee said on Sunday that the panel is still determined to complete the elections within the set time framework.
“We are fully determined to provide free and fair surveys of public opinion in a given timeline,” Malik said, underlining BFI autonomy according to the world box.
Malik responded to the last step IOA and claimed that the ongoing process was already “transparent, responsible and well documented”.
“All key development was formally communicated both IOA and the Ministry, which ensures institutional clarity,” he added.
Fractionalism of clouds of elections accumulated
BFI was tightened in internal disputes and fractionism before the elections. The former judge of the High Court in Delhi RK Gauba, appointed by the returning officer, recently resigned and quoted a campaign against him.
The former trade unravel minister Anurag Thakur is expected to attack the presidential election and will be demanding on the reigning Ajay Singh.
