District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh on Friday (October 31, 2025) issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita covering about a 300-metre radius of the slaughterhouse waste processing plant in Ambayathoda as part of the anti-law and ordinance measures.
Police officers from Thamarassery station said that all public protests and gathering of four or more persons in the area will be banned in the said area for a week on the orders of the Collector. It would also cover the Ambayathode junction, they added.
On Friday, the power plant was restored after the approval of the District-level Facilitation and Monitoring Committee. It remained closed for more than a week following a public protest that ended in a clash with the police on October 21.
