
Mamta Pathak, a former chemistry assistant, explains the chemical reactions and scientific explanations to prove her innocence in her murder, was viral, sentenced to strict imprisonment, as Madhya Pradesh, High Court, adhered to the session order.
During the order, the bench of justice High Court justice Vivek Agarwal and Devilnarayan Misra concluded that Mamta Pathak first served her husband Neer Pathak, a drug to knock him unconscious and then passed through his body and killed him.
Death was first registered as random, but the post mortem of the body revealed that Neera Pathak died of cardio-respiration failure due to electric current. Police also found sleeping pills, CCTV DVR and electric wires from their residence. Given that the case was given at the death of her husband, saying that she was the main suspect, Mamta Pathak turned to the Supreme Court, claiming that post mortem could not identify burns on her husband’s body as electric burns or thermal burns without chemical tests.
She also claimed that since her husband was lying on a wooden bed with her legs held on a plastic chair-all of the electricity non-conductors-there was no electricity for the wound. The state, however, claimed that Neeraj’s body was carried by several wounds of electric shocks. After hearing all the arguments and evidence, the court concluded: “Because all the circumstances in the chain are complete, the guilt of the smt. Mamta Pathak is proven beyond all reasonable doubts,” the living law said.
